Our Mission
Our mission is to support our members through continued education, conferences, seminars, and networking activities to advance their knowledge base and empower them to influence positive changes in the industry.
Professional Development.Professional development has always been at the forefront of our minds and we believe it is critical to continue offering our members opportunities to grow in their professional lives. In an effort to make that possible, we host information sessions for companies that are looking to hire Industrial Engineers, we coordinate resume workshops and panels with local professionals, and we attend conferences and facility tours. In addition, we will also be hosting our very own Career Fair tailored specifically to Engineering students that are looking for internships or full-time positions.

Real World Experience. One of the major things that set us apart from other student organizations is the amount of real world experience that we provide our members with. Every year, we lead at least one process improvement project at a local company, which gives our members the opportunity to get their feet wet and understand what their role would be in an actual work setting. Having that deeper understanding and level of experience really sets our members apart from the norm. We also host facility tours throughout the year to encourage our members to explore different industries behind the scenes.

Personal Development. While both professional experience and technical prowess are certainly important, we as Engineers often forget the importance of personal development and building relationships. As you move through your career, you will often find that your friends are the ones that open doors for you, and we want to make sure that we are cultivating those relationships the best we can. We do this in a myriad of ways, including our weekly meetings, partial proceeds, social events, getaways, and our newly reinvigorated Mentor & Mentee program. Through these opportunities, we are confident that we can form a strong network of friendship within the UCF IE community.

Community Outreach. One of the most important things for any organization is giving back to the community and we are certainly no different in that regard. IISE has always dedicated a considerable amount of our time to community outreach and we are happy to continue doing so. In partnership with the IISE Central Florida Professional Chapter, we have a strong relationship with the Give Kids The World Village, where we volunteer regularly to help maintain their villas. We also have a history of participating in Knight-Thon, the largest student run philanthropy at UCF. Last year, our Knight-Thon team received two (!) awards for their amazing dedication and contributions.
