Rich and Expansive HistoryThe Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers was originally founded in 1948 as the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. In 1981, the name was changed to The Institute of Industrial Engineers to reflect its global impact, and changed again in April of 2016 to its current standing. Throughout its history, the institute has remained the official society for furthering the industrial engineering profession. It is our goal to spread their message to as many students as possible.
