About Us.

The UCF Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers Student Chapter is the official organization for both undergraduate and graduate students within the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems. The chapter represents all students that share common interests of majoring in Industrial Engineering and promoting the Industrial Engineering profession. Our mission is to promote continuous education through conferences, seminars, and networking activities. We strive to help each other succeed, and foster an exciting and safe environment to learn and grow.  To learn more about Industrial Engineering at UCF, check out the IEMS Department website here!

Rich and Expansive History

The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers was originally founded in 1948 as the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. In 1981, the name was changed to The Institute of Industrial Engineers to reflect its global impact, and changed again in April of 2016 to its current standing. Throughout its history, the institute has remained the official society for furthering the industrial engineering profession. It is our goal to spread their message to as many students as possible.

An Invaluable Network

The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers is a globally recognized professional society, with roots in industries all over the world. As time goes on, we are beginning to see more and more industrial engineers occupy CEO and/or CFO positions in large corporations and many of them are professional members of IISE. As a member of our chapter, you are starting on the path to something that you will likely be a part of for the rest of your life. Don't wait - get involved now!

Junior  |  AMPonce9@Knights.ucf.edu

About Me:
I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, but have spent my childhood between my home island, Texas, and Florida. Relating to hobbies I consider myself a nature trail enthusiasts who occasionally enjoys to cook. I am majoring in industrial engineering at UCF because it combines technical skills with business acumen. It is a major focused on process improvement which I think is something I can really hone to match my interests. I hope to use this major as a stepping stone into the business of big data, and eventually receive a master's in data science. Industries that interest me are healthcare and renewables. I hope to one day bring change back to my home island and help improve it in some way.
